Final Stretch

There are only two days left until the final critique for my project. The headboard and footboard have been slightly neglected as I was scrambling to finish the bike trailer during the past week. However, now that the rest of my classes have come to a close I can focus all of my energy into finishing the pair before critique. In reality there is not much remaining to work on besides finish sanding the parts and assembling. This piece doesn’t use much glue, rather it is held together by steel fasteners to allow for it to be broken down for transportation.

Last night was spent making a jig for the dado sled and then cutting the crossbars to fit the fourteen feet of the headboard and footboard. Today I will be making some final cuts, gluing up the feet to the crossbars and cleaning up the panels that were cut on the CNC way back in early november!
